These antique African trade beads are a pale yellow green, a little more yellow than a peridot. The once sharp facets are now worn and soft, pits and scratches are smoothed by the patina of decades.
These were treasured and worn by many generations. There’s one bead placed near the clasp of slightly blue green hue, a pleasant accent.
Other beads are new Czech crystal in a deep, rosy garnet shade, and some interesting vintage pewter beads of European heritage.
I titled this necklace the Gypsy’s Wife because its a casual piece, made from found treasures that have traveled the byways and highways, passing through many hands. Something a traveling woman with an eye for color and whimsy would wear.
